The training offering is divided into four modules: Module 1 provides the “foundation” for people without previous knowledge. Module 2 goes into more depth regarding the basics of rolling bearing technology. Module 3 is about cross-department team building, and module 4 is for people who want to take on an expert role in their respective companies. The program therefore covers the learning needs of employees from many different business areas and career levels.
Customer statements
Thomas Knaus
Dipl.-Ing. (BA) mechanical engineering, mechatronics development EME-ST standard motors, SEW-EURODRIVE GmbH & Co. KG Bruchsal
"Even if you already know a lot about roller bearings and you’ve done calculations or made a lot of designs for them, you can still learn quite a few new things in the module 4 course. Any engineer or technician can do calculations nowadays thanks to all the software available on the market; but a clean depiction of bearing types with their advantages and disadvantages, their applications and installation tips as well as an illustration of bearing damage and the search for causes or clues are a very helpful addition."
Rolf Lampert
Development center, Head of Development, RK Rose + Krieger GmbH Minden
"It’s neutral training and not a sales or advertising event. Very good theoretical, in-depth teaching on the subject of roller bearings. Thank you very much for the practical tips. The trip to your office was very worth it for us."
Thomas Jungbauer
Engineering and Design, Schmid & Wezel GmbH Sinsheim-Hilsbach
"Making comparisons between the different service life calculations is very helpful when it comes to designing applications with ball bearings because the results can vary a lot depending on the method. I found the analysis of the different damage cases especially interesting."
Module 1
Introduction to rolling bearing technology
Module 1 is the “foundation” for people without previous knowledge who come into contact with roller bearings on a daily basis at work or need to make general statements about them, such as buyers, technicians, junior designers or apprentices. Among other things, participants learn how to evaluate and differentiate between the performance parameters of different manufacturers, to correctly read and interpret catalogs, to understand application areas for different forms of rolling elements, to define prefixes and suffixes, and to specify a complete order reference.
Module 2
Expanded rolling bearing technology
The basics of rolling bearing technology are taught in greater depth in module 2. This is of interest, for example, to those who work in the areas of design, development, and project management and work with bearing and bearing assembly concepts. This training is about the selection and creation of bearing concepts; service life calculation according to ISO 281:2010 and the appropriate use thereof; the evaluation of sealing technologies. operating and bearing clearance and their effects; and the application-oriented selection of fits, tolerance classes, and lubrication.
Module 3
Team building in project purchasing
Module 4
Expert knowledge for rolling bearing technology
This two-day training is meant for people who need to have special, in-depth knowledge of roller bearings for their day-to-day work. This roller bearing training includes, among other things, the following:
- Calculation of the modified reference service life according to TS 16281:2008: the principle is explained during the training and the difference between different calculation methods is clarified.
- The damage analysis: Participants learn about the available possibilities for recording damage to roller bearings, what individual damage patterns look like, and what can be done to prevent or fix damage.

Making good even better: We are continually adapting our modular training program on rolling bearing technology and always adding examples from day-to-day work to the documentation. This allows you to get even more added value because valuable tips based on theory and practice pave the way for a true competitive advantage.

In our team building module, we focus on decision making in cross-department projects. Participants will learn about the integration achieved by the ABEG® method in cases of competing goals in engineering, purchasing, and quality assurance.

Each of the subject-oriented training programs deal with specific product groups. These roller bearing training programs are also manufacturer-independent. The specific technical features, performance differences, service life calculation, and specific installation and design influences are in the foreground here. Participants will also get a neutral overview of which solutions in the respective product group are available on the market and what their advantages and disadvantages are.
