Technical information
Housing bearings and their inserts are generally provided with initial lubrication ex works. We therefore do not recommend lubricating the bearings with a large quantity of grease again after installation and before putting them into operation.
Tip: After installation, it is possible to check whether the relubrication feature is working properly by carrying out a lubrication attempt. If the lubricant leaks between the housing and the bearing insert, please check to ensure that the bearing insert is positioned correctly in the housing.
Housings are made of gray cast iron according to EN-GIL-200/250 as standard. If higher strength properties are required, housings according to EN-GJS-400/450/500 are available.
Stainless steel housings are made of AISI304 or AISI316 and are therefore also highly resistant to salt water.
Plastic housing bearings are made of a technical polymer, which can also have anti-bacterial properties, depending on the requirements.
Housings made of steel sheet are supplied in a galvanized finish as standard. On request, we also offer them with a bright finish for customized coating/painting.
Please learn about the materials in the bearing inserts in the corresponding product group.
