Roller bearings for marine technology
Achieving corrosion resistance in the DIN EN ISO 9227 salt spray test is a considerable challenge. Depending on the installation conditions, offshore products need to be able to survive for up to 360 hours. Our special coating technology can last for up to 1000 hours. Ceramic components can even achieve significantly more than that. Generally speaking, the requirements placed on materials and sealing technology are a ever-present theme of application consulting. In order to solve the different tasks involved in the design process, we have a comprehensive selection of roller bearings and plain bearings as well as materials.
- AISI420: deep-groove ball bearings, axial ball bearings, self-aligning ball bearings, needle-roller bearings, cam followers, yoke type track rollers, spherical plain bearings, plain bearings, linear technology
- AISI440C: deep-groove ball bearings, axial ball bearings, self-aligning ball bearings, needle-roller bearings, cam followers, yoke type track rollers, spherical plain bearings, plain bearings, linear technology
- AISI630, AISI304: deep-groove ball bearings
- ZrO2: deep-groove ball bearings
- Coatings made of zinc/iron and zinc/nickel with thick film passivation
Product recommendations for marine technology
Corrosion protection for roller bearings
Protected against corrosion
We achieve effective corrosion protection by using stainless steels like AISI440C and AISI420.
Outstanding corrosion protection
We achieve extraordinary corrosion protection with materials like AISI630 or ceramic ZrO2.
Corrosion-resistant Xclean series roller bearings are ideally suited for the high demands of offshore applications. They ensure optimum corrosion protection and resistance to common chemicals. In Findling Wälzlager’s extensive stainless steel portfolio, you will find, among other things, deep-groove ball bearings, thrust bearings, yoke type track rollers and cam followers, needle-roller bearings, housing bearings and self-aligning ball bearings. Customers can choose the base material that is best suited for their application, for example stainless steel types AISI440C, AISI316L, AISI304, AISI420 or 100Cr6 roller bearing steel with zinc/iron or zinc/nickel coatings. Ceramics and high-performance materials such as AISI630 or titanium are also possible. Last but not least, seals are very important in this area of application because rough operating conditions necessitate proper protection of the inside of the bearing. If chemical resistance is required, seals made of HNBR, ACM and FKM can also be offered in addition to seals made of NBR. Special greases round off the product range.
ABEG® eXtreme series
Findling Wälzlager’s special product range is divided into four series: Xforce, Xspeed, Xtemp, and Xclean. This allows different requirements to be met with respect to operating conditions. Xforce bearings are solutions for high loads at low rotation speeds in which there are unfavorable tribological conditions and lubrication film build-up cannot reliably occur with standard solutions. During the development of the Xspeed series, on the other hand, high speeds and energy efficiency were the focus. The Xtemp series ensures temperature stability in excessively hot or cold conditions. The Xclean series provides robust bearing technology for corrosive ambient conditions as well as special designs for clean room applications.
