The construction of the axial spherical roller bearing is similar to that of radial spherical roller bearings, but only one row of rolling elements is used. Due to the spherical shape of the raceways, high axial loads can be absorbed and misalignment issues can be corrected.
An essential property of greases and oils is the reliable mechanical separation of the rolling element from the raceway. Depending on the application, you need special types of grease to achieve this function. The following properties in particular affect the function:
the starting and operating temperature
the speed of the bearing
the external ambient conditions (moisture, contamination, vapors/gases...)
