High deep-groove ball bearing requirements
Deep-groove ball bearings are the all-rounders of ball bearings: They are robust, maintenance-friendly and can be used for many applications. They are easy to install: single or double-row ball-cage assemblies run between one-piece inner and outer rings. Deep-groove ball bearings are available in open and sealed designs. Their low friction torque also allows them to be used in applications involving high speeds. Deep-groove ball bearings are above all designed for radial forces, but can also absorb low axial forces.
Deep-groove ball bearings for high-load applications must meet special requirements. A long service life despite a high load capacity, guaranteed safety and reliable sealing technology are important criteria, but it has not yet been possible to combine them with low prices and short delivery times. The search for deep-groove ball bearings with these properties has been a true challenge and usually ended with expensive, hard-to-deliver ball bearings or special solutions.
The right deep-groove ball bearing for any application
ABEG® deep-groove ball bearings of the Xforce series are the ideal solution for this special requirement. Proven Supra class ball bearings were tested on the test rig with a wide variety of seal variants and special lubricants from the diverse ABEG® portfolio to find particularly high-performance combinations for heavy-duty applications.
After representative service life and comparison tests with selected types, it was possible to demonstrate a 50% longer service for Xforce series deep-groove ball bearings than for those of the premium reference class.
As ABEG® ball bearings are, in principle, technically and economically optimum solutions, Xforce deep-groove ball bearings are, despite their higher performance, significantly less expensive than similar premium or special bearings. Furthermore, customers are no longer forced to acquire the costly product properties that they don’t even need which come with standard premium-class deep-groove ball bearings.
Xforce series deep-groove ball bearings are predestined for heavy-duty cranes and crane systems, as well as for storage, conveyor and heavy-load technology and construction machinery or off-road vehicles. Thanks to special seals and an improved lubricant, these special ball bearings allow for a maximum service life in the heavy-duty sector and guarantee minimized wear and excellent corrosion protection.
Deep-groove ball bearings with ideal sealing and greasing
In addition to dimensioning, lubrication is also a crucial task when it comes to extreme loads. However, conventional greases only enable standard performance for ball bearings. It is true that solid lubricants perform better in terms of greasing, but they are very cost-intensive. EP additives, on the other hand, significantly improve the performance of deep-groove ball bearings and are economical. A four-fold increase in service life can be achieved quickly and economically: These results were achieved for the Xforce deep-groove ball bearings with a special grease based on lithium 12-hydroxystearate, as well as high-quality, aging-resistant mineral oil and heavy-duty additives (EP additives). The latter also provide the special ball bearings with special wear-reducing characteristics and excellent corrosion protection.
Rough operating conditions require excellent seals so that the interior of the deep-groove ball bearings is optimally protected. In addition to a long service life, low friction is also required for the best possible energy efficiency. That is why Xforce series deep-groove ball bearings are equipped with double lip seals guided in a groove. They provide an excellent sealing effect and reliably prevent the penetration of coarse to medium-sized dirt particles into the ball bearing.
