Xforce series high-performance bearings
Findling’s Xforce roller bearings are highly resilient products with an above-average service life developed in house. Unlike previous comparable solutions, these long-lasting, high-performance bearings are characterized by optimum purchasing and delivery conditions. Xforce is one of the four ABEG® eXtreme series and was designed for use in heavy-duty applications.
The bearings are predestined for cargo cranes and crane systems, other storage, conveyor and heavy-load technology, as well as construction machinery or off-road vehicles. In order to offer the longest possible service life with a high load carrying capacity, the focus was placed on the relevant equipment components of greases and seals. Various seal variants and special greases from the multi-manufacturer ABEG® portfolio were tested on Findling Wälzlager’s performance test rig in order to find a particularly high-performance combination for heavy-duty applications. For example, the service life development of a 6010-ZZ Supra deep groove ball bearing with modified greasing was analyzed at a constant speed and under increasing loads.
The result: with a radial force of 2,000 Newton, the service life of the Xforce bearing was around 4 times longer than that of a standard Premium bearing.
Replacing a standard bearing thus ensures a longer service life under the same operating conditions and offers more safety, especially if the crane is loaded beyond the indicated maximum weight.
High operational safety must also be ensured at increasing speeds, for example if the traversing speed increases. That’s why the service life development was also analyzed under a constant load but at an increasing speed. The service life value of the Xforce Supra bearing was still higher than that of the standard Premium bearing. Furthermore, the lubricating film already optimally formed at a speed of just 350 rpm. The standard Premium bearing only reached its operating optimum at significantly higher speeds that are rather atypical for heavy-duty applications.
It was possible to achieve these results in heavy-duty operation with a special grease based on lithium 12-hydroxystearate as well as high-quality, aging-resistant mineral oil and heavy-duty additives (EP additives).
They also provide special wear-reducing characteristics and excellent corrosion protection. Aside from grease, seals are also a component relevant to service life in roller bearing design. Particularly efficient 2RSDD seals (double-lipped, guided in a groove on both sides) have proven to be an optimum combination with the aforementioned grease. They provide essential protection against contamination of the bearing interior and reliably keep the lubricant inside.
