Needle-roller bearings: supreme performance with minimal installation space

Its low weight makes needle roller bearing technology predestined for lightweight construction and applications with limited installation space. Unfortunately, these products are significantly more expensive (3 to 5 times higher in price) than ball bearing mounted products and are therefore not considered a commercially viable solution for many applications. The situation is different after ABEG® optimization. When comparing Premium ball bearings to Premium needle roller bearings, the price difference remains, but the use of Eco needle roller bearings makes it possible to even slightly reduce costs and double the service life of the application. What was previously ruled out as a solution for economic reasons without the use ABEG® now enables design engineers to expand into performance dimensions that are also economically advantageous.

A wealth of standard components in the three ABEG® performance classes, Premium, Supra and Eco, are available to design engineers as part of our product range:

• needle roller bearings consisting of solid or formed outer rings,
• cage-guided or full complement variants,
• with and without an inner ring,
• single-row, double-row,
• sealed on one side or on both sides,
• radial, axial and combined bearings.

Ready-to-mount systems such as cam followers and yoke type track rollers are also available in different materials, including designs in stainless steel for clean room and food machines.

Open-ended drawn cup needle roller bearings (HK-, BK-) consist of formed outer rings with a needle set without an inner ring. Use without an inner ring (identifiable by a preceding “R” in the type designation, e.g. RNA, RNAO or without an added “I”, e.g. NK) is possible whenever the shaft region that serves as a bearing raceway has a certain hardness or surface quality. For applications in which axial and radial forces need to be handled, Findling Wälzlager offers needle roller bearings with lips (NA-48, NA-49, NA-69, NKI) or needle roller bearings combined with axial deep groove ball bearings (NKXR, NKX, NX, NKIA, NKIB). All products meet DIN/ISO standards.
