Needle-roller bearings: profitable variety
With their low installation height and very high load carrying capacity, needle roller bearings deliver an impressive performance in various applications where these aspects are in the foreground. The requirements for bearing technology are generally just as diverse as the applications. Whether it’s needle roller bearings, needle roller and cage assemblies or open-ended drawn cup needle roller bearings, Findling Wälzlager GmbH offers the optimum solution for all your needs in three of the four ABEG® performance classes.
The big advantage of Findling’s range is the multi-manufacturer product portfolio. “We don’t have to sell roller bearings from a limited supply from our own company because we produce them,” explains Managing Director Klaus Findling. “We carry all bearing types in a very wide variety of designs and therefore make recommendations purely based on the application, meaning that we argue for bearing technology completely objectively in the comparison.” This also applies to the needle roller bearing product group. Thanks to the many years of cooperation with qualified ABEG® technology partners from Germany, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China, Findling is able to supply all types in the needle roller bearing product groups. These include needle roller thrust bearings, cam followers, yoke type track rollers of the type series NK/NKI, NA/RNA, AS/LS/WS, AXK/K-81/K-82 and needle roller and cage assemblies of the type series K-, HK/BK open and closed-ended drawn cup needle roller bearings, adjustable needle roller bearings as well as combined needle roller bearings. Our close cooperation with plants allows us to offer customized designs based on needle roller bearings in addition to standard products.
The subtle distinction
The most important characteristics for the performance of needle roller bearings are the needle sorting used and the profiling used (crowning of the needles). However, the problem here is that the needle sorting used is not made transparent to buyers and technicians in quotations and upon delivery. When it comes to the ABEG® range, however, this transparency is provided from the very beginning thanks to the classification into the ABEG® performance classes and so is the calculability of the service life that can be achieved in the design process, without the need to deal with needle sorting. While Premium products consistently use G2/G3 needle sorting, the Eco ranges include the less expensive G3 to G5 needle sorting. The targeted selection of the performance class allows price reductions of 30 to 50 percent to be achieved while maintaining the same level of performance. “This is an invaluable advantage when economic aspects have to be taken into account in the design phase,” says Klaus Findling. This not only makes it possible to compare the performance of available products at a glance, but also an assessment of cost-effectiveness even in the design phase.
Jack of all trades
The ABEG® method forms the basis of Findling’s entire range and unites performance with aspects of cost-effectiveness. In total, the range comprises more than 22,000 different bearing types. The roller bearing specialists with more than 90 years of product and application experience, including 40 years in the field of needle roller bearing technology, will provide advice regarding various details as well as their effects with respect to the respective application.
